International Markets Receive Metal Detection Product, Checkpoint Training

GARLAND, Texas – November 21, 2005 – Garrett Metal Detectors recently held The Garrett Academy training seminars in Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore. The Garrett Academy is the only comprehensive training program of metal detection screening in the industry. It offers certification in the use and application of walk-through, hand-held and ground search equipment for supervisory and operational personnel in government, corporate, private and law enforcement agencies. Garrett Metal Detectors manufactures ground search, walk-through and hand-held metal detection products and provides training for security applications worldwide.

Academy attendees in Bangkok and Singapore included representatives of the customs, army, navy, air force and tourism departments, as well as Garrett dealers from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. During each course, students were instructed how to properly install, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain walk-through metal detectors. Additional training included how to plan effective metal detection checkpoints. Hands-on training was also provided, with Certificates of Completion presented to all those who successfully completed the Academy course. The Garrett Academy was also held in Dubai, UAE, earlier this year for metal detector dealers and end users throughout the Middle East.
